The first screen presented to the user upon opening the app is the "Quick Task" screen.

It allows for immediate navigation to the task the user would like to accomplish.

This, in turn, reduces interaction cost as it eliminates the need for the user to "fish around" for the function they wish to achieve. In the context of this app, this is to make plans with friends ('Hangouts') or to initiate a catch-up session through messaging.

After choosing the "Catch up with [group name]" option, the app immediately opens to the most recent group chat.

This emphasizes the focus on social groups and inner circles as is the focus of our users as per our research.

Moving to another chat or switching chats is 1 button away. This cuts the interaction cost considerably, from 3 clicks to 1 click to change chats.

The 'Hangouts' feature is a screen tied to each group chat that displays the social events of that group. This screen can be accessed from the group chat and from the "Quick Task" screen.

It is sorted from top to bottom in order of "closest upcoming event".

On the top part of the screen, a weather widget is included to inform decisions for new 'Hangouts'.
