A BIT MORE ABOUT ME

I'M A DESIGNER FROM MELBOURNE WITH A FOCUS ON USER RESEARCH & INTERACTION DESIGN

Hello there!
As a designer, I've had the pleasure of working on a variety of projects across multiple industries.

As a design professional, I've been studying design since 2016 and have been designing freelance since 2019. I've been fortunate to kickstart my professional career in design in 2021, working with exceptional startups and companies led by great minds. These experiences have challenged me as a designer and have been a blessing for my freelance career.

I have found working with diverse teams to be incredibly valuable in my professional experiences. As a product designer, in collaboration with the business team, we successfully secured government funding for a project. Working with developers has moved me to pick up programming myself to future-proof my designs. Python in particular has allowed me to concentrate on specializations of the future such as Automation, AI-Learning Prompt Engineering, and Cybersecurity.

Throughout my studies across multiple universities and projects, I've been able to blend my knowledge and skills in various ways. My expertise in marketing has given me a strong grasp of business, which strengthens my designs with a marketing perspective. My experience in training has taught me to appreciate human capabilities and has made me a better learner. As a multidisciplinary designer, I have worked in various fields, including Graphic, UX/UI, Interaction, and Product Design. I've even explored Industrial and Game Design. I have honed my design approach, embracing the essence of product strategy and incorporating it into my design process. UX Research holds a special place in my heart. You see researching users for design solutions is like being Batman, preparing intelligence before saving the city. My leadership and people skills have been my greatest strengths throughout my career. I believe that people skills are multi-dimensional, from effective communication skills to emotional intelligence.

Design has always been a passion of mine, which started at a young age. While other boys my age were interested in video games and laptops, I was busy drawing improvements to these products. My passion for design only grew as I gained access to software. It's been my childhood dream to become an inventor, as it is for anyone who watched "Back to the Future" and "Meet the Robinsons". Design is the closest I can get to that dream. As a child, I loved wearing black, and my mother would call me the "Black Prince". This has since been my inspiration and serves as my personal logo and brand. To me, the "Black Prince" is a black knight with a crown, representing my approach to design. I strive to understand the user and champion them as a black knight would but with the excellence of a crown.

During the day, I'm your friendly neighbourhood designer, and at night, I'm an athlete in MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The gym is my second home, and I'm an avid gamer of the PC master race. I'm also passionate about learning languages and aspire to be a polyglot. I believe that Python is the superior programming language, and I'm convinced that reading edifies the mind, whether it's a book about design guides or a book about making goblins more interesting as villains.

If you'd like to know more about me, my projects, or just grab a cup of coffee, please feel free to contact me. I'd love to hear from you.

Behold! My logo and personal brand as a designer.

Inspired by my mother and her nickname for me, the 'Black Prince'. I designed it as a knight with a crown. When started my freelance career in design, my mates often joked that in our friend group, I was now the "ace of design". I took that and said, "hey, might just use that as a logo". And so I simply slapped the design on an ace card. I do believe that this really does narrate my approach to design, wouldn't you say so ;)
