Hello there,
this is my
graphic design
portfolio.
Graphics
Welcome! As a designer, my focus has been primarily on creating promotional graphics that cater to a diverse range of industries. By blending my marketing acumen with design expertise, I strive to produce visually appealing graphics that convey a compelling narrative. Typography and colour, as critical design elements, play a vital role in my design process, ensuring that the end product is not only aesthetically pleasing but also effective in achieving its intended purpose.

Logos
Greetings! As a designer, my most significant design projects have been logos. In our progressive society, I firmly believe that branding and corporate identity hold immense significance. These crucial elements not only aid in identifying an organization but also convey its design language and ensure consistency in expressing its values.
My journey in designing logos and developing brand identities begins with my own, the 'Black Prince' logo and then later, the 'Ace Design' logo.

EQSQ Consulting Logo

EQSQ Consulting is a training firm that reached out to me about designing their logo. The requirements were to implement a professional design language with the use of a ripple effect and to represent inclusiveness. Hence I designed the logo with a "Close In" box to signify inclusiveness and used a blue-black colour scheme to represent their brand.

I created a variation for darker backgrounds as some of their exclusive promotional materials featured the logo over a black banner. With this in mind, I inversed the monotone colours and made sure the black bar at the centre was NOT true black, as true black with bright text is too intense for the eyes and reduces readability. I set it at #111111.

Lastly, I made sure to include a green screen variation for their logo as some of their promotional material included video, photo and audio format materials, whereby their logo is intended to be overlayed. The green screen colouration allows just the logo to be displayed overlayed over the content. This was upscaled as well for displays across devices.

I included a green screen variation for the dark background logo as well so all primary variations of the logo could be utilized. Following this I used the green screen logos themselves to take out the background, leaving an image format logo with an empty background for image materials.
The Black Prince & ACE Design

My first ever design, now my personal brand, was inspired by my mother and her nickname for me. I was raised in my family with strong values and as a young boy, happened to be obsessed with black as a fashion choice. And so, my mother would call me the "Black Prince". To me, this is a black knight with a crown. Hence, a champion of those who need it, driven with excellence. The 'Black Prince'.

When started my freelance career in design, my mates often joked that in our friend group, I was now the "ace of design". I took that and said, "hey, might just use that as a logo". And so I simply slapped my 'Black Prince' design on an ace card. My branding as a designer. The "Ace designer" of 'ACE Design'.

As my career in design progressed, I had the thought, "I the Black Prince exists, then surely the opposite should be true. After all, the chess board has two sides to the same pieces.". This led me to iterate on my 'Black Prince' design. My mother would joke, that perhaps it depicts my spouse. The 'White Princess'.

As I frontiered other paths in my life, I had the thought, "What if my personal brand is reflected in other aspects of my life." This iteration of my design explores the BJJ & MMA athlete side of me. Codenamed: 'Myzzery'.
